After releasing 4 DVDs: Live in Diadema (2013), Live in Cuba (2015), Live in São Paulo (2024) and Live in Berlin (2025); and 3 studio albums: Da Rua pra Rua (2012); Sistema de Soma (2020); Bleeding in the Sun (2024), Asfixia Social announced their 4th studio record Mess Bigger (May/2026).
One of the most active formations of Brazil, the band showed up for the international independent scene with hundreds of shows in important venues and festivals in Brazil, England, Netherlands, France, Germany, Belgium, Scotland, Cuba and Portugal.
Between 2019 and 2025 the band performed more than 200 shows, 70 of them among 4 European tours.
In 2024, Asfixia Social has been with the British band Varukers during their Brazilian tour, playing also at important festivals like the Hoorn City Festival (NL), Wilwarin Festival (Ellerdorf, DE), Youth Brigade Festival (Dortmund, DE), Araraquara Rock Fest (Araraquara, BR), Sabotage Vive (São Paulo, BR), Punk in Rio (Rio de Janeiro, BR) and Hacktown (Santa Rita do Sapucaí, BR).
In 2025, the band performed at one of the main stages of Rebellion Festival (Blackpool, UK), and also at Rock im Daal (Idar-Oberstein, DE) and Rock Fest SBO (Santa Bárbara D’Oeste, BR).
Most important to say, Asfixia Social has put up a versatile show with their unique mix of styles, which has created an intense connection with crowds wherever they play, with lyrics that portray the group’s daily life and activism in the outskirts of South America’s largest city – São Paulo – bringing all its strength mainly in poetry, street culture and a pulsating sound.
The band is also known for putting up shows and social actions in suburbs, favelas, public schools and getting youngsters to participate at the shows, like in their recent release Capoeira-Hardcore.
Da Rua pra Rua
Da Rua pra Rua, first and classic official album of the band, was released on a 12” Vinyl in Brazil and Europe in 2012, featuring German singer Ariane Kozier and trombonist Victória Binx, as well as BNegão (Planet Hemp), Marcos Abreu (Agrotóxico), DJ Tano, Funk Buia and Gaspar (Z’África Brasil).
The music video for Censura Não was on MTV Brazil and with Da Rua pra Rua the band toured São Paulo, Alagoas, Pernambuco, Paraíba, Santa Catarina and Cuba, winning the 2014 Hip Hop Culture Prize from the Brazilian National Foundation of Art (Funarte) and playing at festivals like River Rock (Brazil) and Havana Art Biennial in 2015.
